Documentary Producer/Documentary Director

It makes sense to hire an inventive director who can 'cost' and 'save'. The unique combination of the above two areas of knowledge will prevent the dreaded situation of an 'overspend'. I say this because I have a particular body of knowledge having specialized in the area of Research, Rights and Clearances and the Licensing of Audio Visual Product for TV, Video, and DVD for many years. I also have a thorough knowledge of Film and TV collections (both private and corporate) across the globe. My chosen area of endeavour lies within the history of Music, TV,Cinema and Documentary Film making (see Credits).

The work that I have undertaken for Elton John demonstrates how creativity and cost effectiveness can be combined.

I have also got a broad based understanding of Audio Visual PostProduction: e.g. Editing, and the Re-mastering of Video Tape Formats/Film Formats (all forms, since their inception) Grading etc, as well as Audio Post Production - Remixing/Re-mastering of Analogue and Digital formats. (I was for two years the Producer of The Elton John Video Archive Project, and the Van Morrison Video Archive Project. Separate details available upon request).

Writer/Researcher/TV and Script Development

I have also been involved in Documentary Programme Development/TV Series Development for The Really Useful Group,Initial TV, Buena Vista International, Channel X, Planet Wild, Tartan TV, Plantagenet, and Boum Productions.

I have assessed and worked in the development process of Feature Film Scripts for David Puttnam (Enigma Productions), Simon Perry(Umbrella Films), Mike Wooler and Susan Richards (Goldcrest Films& TV), Harvey Kass & Marc Samuelson (After Words Pictures)- I wrote the First Draft Screenplay of Michael Hastings play Tom& Viv, which was eventually produced and won a BAFTA some yearslater.

I have written CD liner notes, written for the music press, contributed to books such as The Golden Age of Children's TV for Titan Books and The Gerry Anderson Episode Guide amongst others, as well as programme development for The Really Useful Group, Initial, Buena Vista,Channel X, Planet Wild, Tartan, Plantagenet, etc.
